Marty in our Graphics Department was designing our catalog cover that year, and, just for fun, hid a little Welsh Corgi on the cover that looked a lot like Saint, the dog of our founder. Saint had recently passed away.
The children of her original owners had given her the name Saint because she looked so much like a St. Bernard when she was born. She was a mixed breed, but looked more like a Corgi as she got older. She was very smart, eager to please, and very loving. “Saint never talked back, but just looked at us with those huge beautiful brown eyes that looked like they were outlined with eyeliner.”
Nashville Wraps management liked the idea of keeping the dog on the catalog cover simply because it was fun and whimsical. It was indicative of the Nashville Wraps style and mindset. In other words, we try not to take ourselves too seriously and we don’t always do things the conventional way.
The Marketing Department nicknamed the dog “Pooch” and began using him in some of our advertising at the time. And with every catalog since 2003 we have hidden him somewhere on the cover.
We hope you have as much fun finding Pooch on the cover as we do in hiding him.
