Looking for a fun, easy and inexpensive way to dress up a package or your store window display? Look no further than tissue paper flowers. They resemble a cross between a carnation or peony when the ends are rounded. If you make pointed ends, you can create a chrysanthemum or dahlia look. Learn how to make these adorable tissue flowers in the video at the bottom of this post.
Wedding and party planners love them, and they are darling at baby showers with baby curling ribbon. Nashville Wraps carries Green Way® 100% recycled tissue paper in dozens of colors and prints, all made in the USA. You can mix & match beautiful solid colors like fuchsia, dandelion and soft lavender. You can also add in tissue paper prints to your flowers.
Retail stores are hanging these from the ceilings with raffia or curling ribbon. They are also using them in displays, hanging from bare or painted tree branches like this Sparkling Events & Designs table at the left. See how we used them for our Nashville Wraps Dog Days of Summer company party in the photo below. You can make them in advance and keep them flat, then fluff them later so they don’t get crushed in transit to an event; or store them for extra special gift packaging. You could tie discount coupons to the flowers, and let customers “pick” their sale.
Brides are hanging tissue poms from the ceilings at receptions and from trees for outdoor weddings. Eco-conscious brides can recycle them along with paper raffia, minus the twist tie or wire.
For my daughter’s 14th birthday (the one in the middle), we used these tissue paper flowers as party decorations. You can see them behind the girls in the photo below. We even let the girls put some together as a craft. They had so much fun making these, and thought they made great hair accessories as well!
The best part about these flowers is they don’t have to be perfect. The differences in them simply add character to each one. You can add more or less tissue depending on how full you want them to look. You can make mini ones for small gift and jewelry boxes or larger ones for tissue pomanders. And if you mess one up, you’re only out a few cents.
Another fun idea is hot gluing the flowers to any initial letter or shape like this heart or peace sign. Simply cut out poster board, cardboard, or foam board into the desired form. Punch holes in the back for the ribbon to hang. Attach the ribbon by knotting it through the holes (or you may also just tape the ribbon to the back if you don’t want to cut holes). Make all your tissue paper flowers, then hot glue them to your board. Now it’s ready for hanging!
The possibilities with tissue flowers are endless. So have fun with these, and let us know how you use them. We’d love to see your pictures! Email them to [email protected]

I especially love to see the tutorials like making flowers from tissue paper. I save/recycle tissue paper, and have for years, to make into my own “handmade paper” art.
Keep up the great work and THANK YOU for supporting Hand Made in America
