Over the years I have made many friends through my contacts at Nashville Wraps. I’ve met many of you face to face at trade shows and seminars and others via phone and internet. So I think it’s only fitting that I write to you all and let you know of the major changes I am making in my life and work.
After ten years of blogs, videos, trade shows, photography set ups, and whatever else was needed, I’m going to retire! I will only come in twice a year to help with catalog photography – the part of my job that I love the most. Here’s a snippet of my retirement letter so you will know what I’ll be doing in the days to come.
I don’t want to be working when I’m too old to enjoy life. I truly believe God has other plans for me that require more flexibility in my time. Robby jokingly said, “It must be nice to be independently wealthy”, but the truth is my heavenly Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills (heck, He even owns the hills). If I do His will, He will provide what I need. He has already begun to show me how generous He can be. I’ve watched Him work wonders for my missionary friends in Lynch, KY and I know He will do the same for me as I move to do His will. He has gifted me in Women’s Ministry and taught me some pretty hard lessons in the last few years, and now it’s time to pass those along to others who may be walking just a few steps behind me …. I want to be free by February 1st to work on my greenhouse business and to be free to spend time with the young women God has placed in my life.
I will probably write an occasional blog or do a video for Wraps if I find something out there that I think you would like. You can still find me on my Mimi’s Greenhouse Facebook page and on Pinterest.
My friend and coworker, Buffie, suggested I tell you a few of my favorite posts and videos from over the years. The first ever video I did, and Wraps’ first video too, is still the number one viewed video on our YouTube channel. It is a simple little video called How to Make a Ribbon Bow and it has had 201,050 total views! Who would have thought that little video would be the first of 52 (to date) video uploads and over 800,000 views and nearly 700 subscribers! There are at least three people at Nashville Wraps doing videos now, as well as occasional guests. My personal favorite videos were the ones I did in my home studio. How To Shrink Wrap a Basket was fun to do – you should have seen the stuff I edited out! Picking a favorite blog is hard – I love writing, and there were many that I enjoyed doing.
Blessings to You all,
Kathy Green
