For those of you who are in the party planning business, you can learn so much from this amazing team. Enjoy this re-post from their blog with incredible photos by Becca Bond Photography, including party planning ideas and a fun how-to video at the end.
Now from Anders Ruff…
We couldn’t be more thrilled to debut our Barbie in Princess Power Viewing Party with loads of ideas, activities and ways to use the FREE downloadable printables that we designed (when you purchase the movie from Walmart). Our little guests joined us for a full movie viewing party and of course had to start off by dressing for the occasion at our Glam Station. The girls all got to put on adorable tutus and tanks with a butterfly clip from Nashville Wraps’ customer Strawberrie Rose.
Seating was arranged and the Barbie in Princess Power movie viewing snack boxes were set at each girls’ place. We added a printable to the adorable pink trays from Nashville Wraps. The movie snack trays included a soda bottle wrapped with our printable “Pop” wrapper, a Bingo game card, a popcorn box (which is also a printable!), a pretzel and candy boxes (that were turned “super” by wrapping with our printable wrappers!) The girls LOVED watching the movie all dressed up in their costumes, and the snack boxes were a huge hit.
A Gift Wrapped Skyline
The dessert table had a gorgeous super hero skyline backdrop with Super Sparkle flying overhead. The buildings were wrapped with Nashville Wraps gloss color gift wrap. {Watch the video at the bottom of this post for how they created the buildings using gift wrap paper.}
Once the girls were done watching Barbie in Princess Power, they were ready to enjoy their lunches and the sweets at the dessert table. The dessert table was such a hit and added such a fun pop of color (and sweetness!)
We filled Nashville Wraps clear containers with powdered candy from Miami candies and embellished them with a Butterfly Dust printable topper. To enjoy, the girls used yellow rock candy stick (decorated with a butterfly printable on the handle) to dip into their powdered pink butterfly dust. What a fun treat!
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
– Recycled boxes from local home improvement store (we like curtain rod boxes, or anything building shaped)
– Solid color wrapping paper (We love wrapping paper from Nashville Wraps)
– Tape & Glue
– Scissors
– Black card stock
– Black electrical tape
– Square craft punches – 2 sizes (We used 1″ and 1.5″)
STEPS:
Step 1: Wrap empty recycled boxes with different bright colors.
Step 2: Punch out several squares in different sizes – some solid, some open to create “windows”.
Step 3: Glue or tape “windows” on each box in rows.
Step 4: We also used strips of electrical tape to create long windows (we placed them horizontal and vertical along the boxes for different looks).
Step 5: Mix and match heights, colors and windows to create variety in your building backdrop. Stack and layer in front of each other to created a city look.
