Create this fun twist on patterned gift wrap by combining two monochromatic designs and finishing up with a contrasting ribbon – or better yet, try combining both sides of one of our reversible gift wraps (below).
To make two different designs work together, start with a large, bold pattern and match it up with a small, simple one in the same color scheme, such as black & white. I’ve used our Paisley Flourish plus our Black Rendezvous Dots, and our Black Flourish plus Houndstooth. A reversible wrap is even easier – the patterns already coordinate! I added Fabric Ribbon. I love the texture of fabric ribbon paired with classic patterns like polka dots.
Here’s how to assemble this easy duo-wrap look: 1. Cut a piece of each of your two wraps, then 2. overlap them and tape them together on the back side. 3. Wrap your gift with the double sheet you’ve created, paying attention to where you want the seam to fall. Once your gift is wrapped, 4. hide the edge of the overlap with ribbon, then tie a pretty bow. It’s a quick way to get extra impact with very little effort.
This is a great solution for wrapping extra-large gifts and for using up those scraps of gift wrap. See our entire line of gift wrap here and more creative wrapping ideas here.
