Dogaholics Turning Their Bags into Walking Billboards
Candace Canty, Founder of Dogaholics in Chicago, IL says, “We are in a high traffic, urban shopping area where people walk a lot more than drive. They also always eat at outdoor cafes and restaurants in between shopping. I always loved seeing our old bags, the paw print plastic t-sacks we got from Nashville Wraps, strolling the neighborhood. And it dawned on me that we were really missing an opportunity to advertise more. The bags really could be a walking billboard. Our city has also gone plastic bag free for the big box stores, so I’ve seen our shopping bags at the local grocery store too (as a reusable bag).”

Custom Printing FAQ’s
Custom Packaging Specialist Mike Coursey has been with Nashville Wraps for 29 years, and answers some of our most-asked questions about custom printed bags.
1. How do I order?
Call Nashville Wraps 1-800-547-9727 ext. 4 or email printed@nashvillewraps.com.
2. What information do you need?
Quantity, size, color, design, logo and product type.
3. How long do custom bags take?
Hot Stamped/Ink Printed: 2-3 weeks
Made to Order: 4-5 weeks on a new order or 15 to 18 working days on a reorder.
4. What are the minimums?
Hot Stamped/Ink Printed: 500 Bags
Made to Order: 5,000 Bags for totally custom made to order for up to 3 colors. If you want 4 or more colors, minimums may be higher.
5. Are Made to Order a lot more expensive per bag?
On 5,000 bags they are about 30% higher than hot stamped bags, but you get 75% more printing and ink coverage. On 10,000 bags, the cost per 1,000 bags is less expensive than 1,000 hot stamped bags. You have to look at the cost for printed bags as an advertising expense, not a supplies expense. It is one of the cheapest forms of advertising today compared to radio, TV and print. Printed bags serve a dual purpose for your store.
6. What are the advantages of Made to Order bags vs. Hot Stamp or Ink Printing?
Hot Stamped Bags: 1 color printing and a maximum of 2 sides.
Ink Printed: 1 color and 1 side only.
Made to Order: The minimum starts at 5,000 bags, but you can get complete 100% ink coverage on all 4 sides of the bag and up to 3 colors for the same price as printing 2 colors on 2 sides with just 25% coverage.
7. What type of business would be a good candidate for custom bags?
Hot Stamped/Ink Printed: any customer that now uses a label or hand stamps a plain bag and can use 500 to 1,000 bags in a reasonable time frame.
Made to Order: Stores that use a high volume or have multiple locations and want a lot more ad space on more sides of the bag to showcase locations, product listings or just to make a statement.
