Saturday, November 26th has been designated as Small Business Saturday to encourage consumers to #ShopSmall after Black Friday’s rush to big box retailers. It’s an event started by American Express in 2010.
It’s a very successful business promotion that has brought more awareness to the “Shop Local” campaign. Since the majority of Nashville Wraps customers are small business retailers, we want to help you make this day a success by providing great holiday packaging ideas and tips from two of our favorite local customers.
The Trendy Trunk
Located in the same great city as Nashville Wraps, The Trendy Trunk in Hendersonville, TN is one of the most popular gift shops in town. At Trendy you can find the perfect gift for any birthday, wedding, baby shower or special occasion. They have been a local Nashville Wraps customer for years offering free gift wrapping for their customers.

Their goodies are gift wrapped in a popular Nashville Wraps holiday bag like Woodland Berry Pine (shown above) with tissue paper and all tied up with raffia ribbon. This wrapping service makes easy gift-giving for busy customers and is what sets Trendy Trunk apart from the retail chains.
Owner Deanna Williams makes a point to give back the week of Small Business Saturday by supporting other local small businesses. Last year she stopped by a local Christmas tree farm for an evergreen wreath for the store, purchased balloons from a local party supply shop and donuts for the staff from a local bakery.
Socks & Soles
We first met Phil at the Atlanta Gift Market four years ago. He likes shopping local. That is why he chose Nashville Wraps. To promote their store for the holidays, they switched from their normal brown kraft bags and black logo to Nashville Wraps Evergreen design with a 3-color logo. He receives lots of compliments because the red and white stripe sock design really stands out on these 100% recycled bags. He says, “Something as simple as a shopping bag is a great promotional tool as every customer becomes a walking billboard as they carry the bag throughout our mall.”
So stop and take a few minutes during this busy season to design a game plan for this important Shop Small day for your business. Gaining new local customers this Small Business Saturday will help increase your chances of finding loyal business all year long.
