Speaking of treats, that brings me to how Nashville Wraps knows Sarah. She’s not only a singer and songwriter, she’s also one of our customers!
Macarons in Music City
Her very successful side gig is a fabulous little confection company called – appropriately enough – Sweet Darling Pâtisserie. Aiming to bring a taste of Paris to Music City, Sarah started Sweet Darling three years ago as a kind of respite from the music biz. Growing up, she spent a lot of time baking with her mother and grandmother, so the kitchen has always been her “happy place.” On one fateful, life-changing trip to Paris, she fell in love with her husband, James, and also became enamored with the lovely little French confection known as the macaron. A later visit to Paris allowed Sarah and and James to take a class in the Montmartre neighborhood, where they learned how to bake perfect French macarons, and the dream of Sweet Darling Pâtisserie was born.
Authentic French Flavor
Sweet Darling macarons are the real deal: light and airy, in fanciful seasonal flavors, they’re the nearest you’ll find to a Ladurée in Nashville. Sarah packages her creations with a custom label and a beautiful bow, using ribbon from Nashville Wraps. She says, “The first time I experienced a Patisserie in Paris, I fell in love with all the beautiful boxes of macarons and chocolates in the windows. Packaging is just as important as the product, and Nashville Wraps brings that story to life for Sweet Darling Patisserie.”
Connecting the Dots
I like to think of Nashville as one big small town, and Nashville Wraps has one more connection to Sarah Darling: through me! Or rather, through my husband, Cheyenne Medders, a songwriter who has collaborated with Sarah as well as performed on Dream Country (you can see him performing at the Opry with her in the video below). He often brings home macarons for me after their songwriting sessions or rehearsals. Salted caramel is my favorite flavor, but I’ve never met a Sweet Darling I didn’t love. As soon as I found out Nashville Wraps would be getting some gorgeous new macaron packaging that is made in the USA – and in Sarah’s signature aqua, at that! – I had the inspiration to talk to her about doing a feature for our blog, and voilà!
Telling A Story
Sarah’s branding and social media efforts work seamlessly to tell her story. “My advice for any business is knowing your brand and story! This is your direct connection to the consumer. You want the customer to have an experience with your product! For me, I want everyone to be transported to a little cobblestone street in Paris each time they have a taste of a macaron.” Follow Sweet Darling’s Instagram account to bring a bit of Paris to your daily feed: @sweetdarlingpatisserie. You can find Sweet Darling at the Franklin Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings or make a custom order through the website.
