A Reuters/Ipsos poll this week found that 70 percent of Americans think it is important to buy American-made products. However, 37 percent in that same poll said they would not want to pay more for American-made goods.
Nashville Wraps says, “No problem!”
“Our American vendors have been competing against imports for years,” says Robert Meadows, Founder and CEO of Nashville Wraps, LLC. “It is all about good ol’ American ingenuity and efficacy. 1,000 or more workers in a Chinese factory is not a very efficient process, especially when the finished goods have to be shipped across the ocean and then from coastal port to distribution.”
How do we compete?
“Our vendors are centrally located to the Nashville Wraps distribution headquarters in Middle Tennessee both decreasing our time to order and transportation costs,” Meadows continues. “But that’s only the icing on the cake because it is all about the raw goods and the high efficiencies used by our American suppliers to create the bags, boxes and wrapping papers with the utmost speed, low energy consumption and low environmental impact. In fact, we have vendors that are a net gain to the environment!” See our Green Way brand of eco-friendly packaging.
No wonder it isn’t a problem for Nashville Wraps customer to buy high-quality, American-made packaging for the same price or less than many imports.
In addition to the recycled papers used (shown above), the wood pulp come from sustainable domestic forests. Much of the Asian imported products are actually made from paper that comes from the USA. “The Chinese are buying OCC (Old Corrugated Cartons) and shipping barges full of it across the Pacific; then, once done, shipping it back over here. That is a lot of time, fuel, money and loss of efficiency,” says Meadows.
