Some of My Favorite Things….
Other than rain drops on roses and whiskers on kittens, I have found several new Nashville Wraps products that are favorites. Most of these are little things that you may have missed if you didn’t look closely at our new catalog. I’ll try to group them in categories and provide you with links to make them easy to find.
Let’s start with bags – not so boring any more! Look at these over-the-top bright merchandise bags and colorful paper sacks! My favorite color for spring is orange – I’m even adding orange accents in my home this year. These wonderful colors are also available in a glassine lined candy bag; I want my chocolate in orange please! All these colorful little bags are made in the USA. The merchandise bags and gift sacks are 100% recyclable and compostable!
Another 100% recyclable group of bags that I really like is the newsprint merchandise design. I think the print is nostalgic and somewhat European even though it is made in the good ole USA. It’s reminiscent of a Paris street market in by gone days where merchants used the daily paper to wrap their wares. When your customer is done with the bag, they can recycle it or toss it in the compost and turn it into soil for their heirloom tomatoes.
New in our last catalog and very useful are our basket box lids. They come in several colors and two sizes. I like to mix and match the lid and box colors. See what a pretty tower I made with three different sizes. They are strong enough to withstand shipping.
As long as we are talking about basket boxes, have you seen the adorable die cut enclosure cards in the back of our catalog? They are so darned cute that I want them all! Nothing completes the presentation better than a special tag and these are special! I’ve added pictures of a few of my favorites here.
The whole Distant Village collection is fabulous and I especially appreciate the concept of “teach a man to fish” concept that Distant Village promotes. we support others around the world when we buy these products. I like the little cacao boxes a lot but my very favorite is the Sinamay Ribbon. It swirls and curls off the roll to make wonderful displays around the boxes. I like the way it ties – a knot alone dresses up a package and gives it a very oriental flair. A few dried grass stems tied into the knot make a great finish!
I could not have a list of favorites without ribbon. I am a ribbon freak! My poor husband had to build a special rack at home for all my ribbons. I’ve filled it up already and need another one! I love the new paper ribbons! The Crinkle Paper ribbon is colorful and fun to work with. Anyone can make a spectacular bow with Crinkle Paper Ribbon it. It comes in lots of great colors. See what I did with the jewelry boxes in this picture.
100% recyclable and made with water-soluble inks our new Paper Raffia is as environmentally friendly as it is useful. I tied a topper on my biodegradable and compostable cello bag so when the candy is gone – toss the whole thing in the compost! I used it with the new Cotton Curling Ribbon on the little chocolate jewelry box – I love how easy it is to curl! Once again made in the USA and biodegradable.
Last but not least is another product that is not new but I just discovered the terrific uses for it! 3-in-1 Raffia is my new very most favorite! I love the way it curls when pulled out of the center of the roll. Often, I don’t even tie a bow – it looks so neat all curled up. It is good when used as an accent to an inexpensive pull bow too. Pair it up with a coordinating Raffia bow and watch your customer smile.
I hope you have enjoyed our little catalog tour. Please leave a comment- tell us about your favorite new products and what you are doing with them. Happy Wrapping!

I have an upscale wedding this June that I am consulting on…Ceremony and reception are at the Schermehorn with several out of town guests staying at downtown hotels. Looking for a simple sophisticated idea for hotel room gifts.

I have really enjoyed the basket box lids. They make packaging easier and quicker!
I really like the muslin bags, but I think the price is too high, so I’ve resisted them.

The newspaper bags are terrific. Is there a way to customize the bags (labels?) or does that defeat the purpose or ruin the look?
