Easter is this weekend, and while this year is unlike anything before, our hope is for YOUR hope. Easter brings the promise of hope for a new season, and that couldn’t be more timely for us all. This pandemic will pass (hopefully soon!) and life will continue as it did before. What we hope continues is the compassion for each other, the loyalty to local communities and businesses, and the creativity that has come out of the necessity for survival.
Creative Ideas for Unprecedented Times
As always, our customers are leading the way in coming up with ways to innovate and keep up with the changing times. Here are a couple of ideas to (hopefully) help get your creativity flowing.
DIY Cookie Decorating Kits
One of the smartest ideas we’ve seen in the bakery industry to generate additional revenue during these uncertain times: adorable (and very popular!) DIY cookie kits.
The kits generally consist of undecorated sugar cookies and the icing, sprinkles, or other decorations needed for you to decorate them at home.
A New Tradition in the Making
These kits have exploded this spring as a new Easter tradition for families, ranking just as popular as dying Easter eggs. But they aren’t just for the Easter season. DIY cookie kits can be a great addition for bakeries all year long!
Cookies can be themed, seasonal, or fun everyday objects like flowers, animals, and letters. They are great for families to decorate together, for birthday party activities, and for holiday traditions.
Our customer, The Next Sweet Thing, has had such an overwhelming demand for their Easter DIY Cookie Kits (shown above), they were able to hire additional staff during this unprecedented time to keep up with demand. They package their DIY Cookie Kits in our Pink Bakery Boxes for a fun pop of color!
Paint-Your-Own-Cookie Kits
More Treats, Jenny is offering ‘Stay Home’ kits (shown below), allowing you to paint your own cookies. They package their individual cookies with paper shred inside the box and pretty raffia ribbon on the outside so it feels like a gift with a fun (and tasty) project inside.
If your bakery has the ability to bake cookie shapes, this could certainly be a great addition for you too!

Would love to purchase cello Bags- are they available for individuals to purchase or is it only wholesale ?
Priscilla Medders says
Hi Cassinda! Yes we are wholesale, but we’ve just added small packs and there is now no minimum order or small order fee to help our customers get through these challenging times. So yes, smaller orders are welcome. Call us if you have any questions!
